Puretecs Purocoat 17/02
Ultra-thin fluoropolymer protective coating for electronics and printed circuit boards
Purocoat 17/02 is an ultra-thin, transparent fluoropolymer coating designed for the professional protection of electronic assemblies. This ready-to-use liquid is based on a high-performance fluoroacrylate polymer dissolved in Purosolve 71/00 (hydrofluoroether).
At a solid concentration of 2% (Purocoat 17/02) fluoropolymer content, the coating typically produces a layer thickness of 500 nm. The extremely low surface energy (8–12 mN/m) ensures that water, heptane, toluene, lubricating oils, and silicones reliably bead off.
Sensitive electronics are thus protected against:
- Moisture
- Corrosion
- Surface diffusion
- Chemical influences
- Contaminants and oils
The coating is electrically non-conductive, permanently flexible, and completely transparent—ideal for printed circuit boards, sensors, LED modules, and precision mechanical assemblies.
Application
Application is performed via a dip coating process with a coating duration of just a few seconds. After removal from the bath, a homogeneous, ultra-thin protective film remains on the assembly. The assemblies are immediately ready for use and electrically functional after drying and are therefore suitable for mass production.
PCBA - Fluoropolymer coating
The film thickness is primarily controlled by the solid content.
For concentration adjustment:
- Increasing the concentration: Purocoat 17/10 (10% fluoropolymer)
- Reducing the concentration: Purosolve 71/00
- Removing the coating: Purosolve 71/00
Puretecs offers suitable measurement and calculation tools for monitoring the solid concentration in the bath.
